Kubotan Silver

The Kubotan is a self-defense keychain weapon developed by Tayayuki Kubota in the 1960’s.  It is typically no more than 14 centimetres long and about 1.25 centimetres in diameter, slightly thicker or the same size as a marker pen.   A kubotan is commonly used for striking, joint-locking, pressure point techniques and submission holds.  Kubotans can be held in a closed fist to provide a hardened punch or forward jabs.  A great tool that martial artists have learned to utilize the kubotan to increase the intensity of joint manipulations and pressure point techniques.  This kubotan is made from aluminium and has small grooves to enable a sure grip.  Kubotans should not be used for full contact training and as a practice training aid only.

  • For striking, joint-locking, submission holds and pressure-point techniques
